For me, painting gives purpose to living. It is satisfying and fun and I expect to stay with it as long as I live. People describe me as a warm and interesting lady with perceptive vision, a competent design sense and painting skills. I find so many subjects interesting that it is hard for me to settle down to one theme, but the marine scene has always been a favorite and my ten years of living aboard a 38' sailing sloop give my paintings the feel of authenticity.

I'm from the Midwest but have lived in south Florida for the last 18 years. I have made a living on a drawing board nearly all of my working life, first as a sign designer for large electric sign companies and later as a self employed architectural illustrator, bringing life, color and form to architect's blueprints.

Now I concentrate on fine art, striving to create mood and excitement in each piece. I work primarily in watercolor, enjoying its freshness and spontaneity, but sometimes venture into acrylics as well. I have entered and won first place in watercolor and People's Choice awards in local art shows.
